updated review from October 2015
I wore this wig from October 2015 through May 2016 on a full-time basis. I wrote a review and wanted to update it. I replaced this wig with another one exactly like it as I like it. I received a full 8 months of wear from the wig. I replaced it as the mono top had lost enough hair that I needed to do comb-overs in some areas. Otherwise, there was no hair loss on the back and sides. I believe the hair loss in the mono top may have been partially caused by using heat roller claw holders and securing them too tightly. I will find out on the new one as I do not use the claw holders anymore on top. I just let gravity hold the rollers in place and not too tightly. I ordered color 131/30 which is a beautiful auburn. The color, as with any red, fades fast and I had to dye the wig about every 2 1/2 to 3 months. I did it myself with color from Sallys beauty supply - Ion Color Brilliance Liquid - 2 oz of 8G-8.3 Light Golden Blonde, 1/2 oz. of 8RC-8.4 light copper blonde, mixed with 2 1/2 ounces of sensitive scalp 20 developer - I let it process 40 minutes, then rinsed, washed, and conditioned. It comes out as close as I could get to the original color. I use Its a 10 Miracle Shampoo, and the mask when I wash it. After it air dries a bit, spray it with Jon Renau Argan Smooth Treatment Mist. I have not tried Jon Renau shampoo and conditioner as yet. I use the Its a 10 Miracle products on my own hair so it is at hand. I use the Argan Treatment Mist pretty much daily in small amounts as the wig does not receive natural oils as real hair would. The cap is too big front to back but I put up with it. This had a good amount of hair but it is evenly distributed - the netting in the back and sides has the hair vented in only a few strands at a time and placed close enough together to make me feel secure. (I recently bought and tried a Jon Renau Isabella - I like the density of hair on the top of Isabella better as it is slightly less than the HT Alexandra, but the hair in the netting on the sides and back of the Isabella were done with clumps of hair that hold too many strands and the clumps are placed too far apart - if they were exposed by movement or wind - they look like scattered plugs - because of this- Isabella was top heavy with too much air on top compared to the amount of hair on the sides and back) (I also tried the Alexandra Petite machine made - see my review on it - I did not like it ) So having tried Alexandra machine made and Isabella hand tied, the Alexandra hand tied is the winner by far of these 3 wigs. I could have saved a good deal of money by not buying the other two - put I learned lessons and have more weekend and pool hair than I need. Hope this helps. someone.
Love this wig
I have had this wig for 2 weeks. I have bee wearing wigs for 20+ years and this is the best wig I have ever had. I usually order a custom made wig at 4 times the price and have to wait 6 months for it, and then spend a small fortune on cut and style. My CSR- Antoinette helped me choose the perfect color. I could not be happier with the wig or the excellent customer service. Everyone in my life has said that I look younger, modern and refreshed. I am getting ready to order an additional wig for rotation. I received the perfect color- a golden blond thanks to Antoinette's expert advice. I will never order a custom piece again! Ladies this is worth the investment :)
I took a chance and ordered this. It is the single best wig I have ever worn, and I have been wearing wigs all day, every day for 20 years. It is too bad this brand is not promoted more by wigs.com because the quality is exceptional. I washed it, and had my hair stylist cut off about 2 inches in the back, add some layers, and a side swept bang. Then I put in some 1 1/4 inch heat rollers and the curls were beautiful. The label from Wig Pro said to wash and let air dry. I did and was amazed to find the hair was not only strong but silky and tangle free with nothing more than the air to dry it. I ordered the color ring first and was able to pick out the exact color I wanted - 31/130 which is a beautiful medium auburn. I have never ordered a petite size before and am happy with the fit around my head, however the fit from front to back is still loose on me, but not so much that I don't love the piece. I bought this to replace a European Human Hair piece which cost me $1750. The $1750 piece rates a 3 at best and that is being kind. The Wig Pro (which I believe is Asian human hair) arrived with a very believable amount of beautiful hair and is so easy to care for and curl. It is a pleasure to wear all day. Don't hesitate to buy this piece.
huge price increase!
I have been paying $540 for this wig @ 30% off. Today I ordered it and the price was $750! My hair loss is due to radiation for brain cancer treatment in 1990. It's disappointing that the cost of this is so great and ongoing. I have to order petite size and options are so limited.
This is the best
I have worn wigs almost my whole life. I really love this wig. I have no hair so the petite is perfect. The hair is long enough that I can cut and shape to any style I choose. When the wind blows the monofiliment cap mimics the scalp perfectly and because it's hand tied the hair line looks real so I can choose to have bangs or not. This wig contours to the head and it stays in place I can actually go on a roller coaster and go swimming with it. You will not find a better quality wig in any boutique anywhere. Most wigs only lasted me 3-4 months this one lasts about a year and believe me I'm harder on it than running shoes. I love human hair wigs. I can use my favorite shampoo and conditioners straighten or curl. I chose to go blond this time so I chose butterscotch.
Alexandra Petite HT
I have purchased two of these wigs and love them. No one would ever suspect you were wearing a wig. Over the years I've puchased and worn many wigs and have found the human hair wigs are well worth the extra money. The saying is true: you get what you pay for.
