Summer is in full swing and it’s a hot one! Can you see yourself sipping on margaritas and lounging around napping? (Are you still with us or did we lose you at ‘margaritas’?)

Summer is great but triple digit weather… not so much. You can wear all the skimpy outfits you want to stay cool, but things are a little different when you count on a wig as part of your routine.  And unless you have no problem going without your wig, chances are you’re already sweating just thinking about it.

Well, don’t sweat it, we’ve got you covered! Just follow these 3 tips to stay cool while looking haute in your wigs all summer long.

Cool Dos for Haute Summer Wigs

    1.      Do: Go with a capless wig.

Last week we blogged about capless wigs; they’re light and airy – air circulates freely and keep it from feeling like a sauna. What’s more, capless synthetic wigs are perfect to deal with the summer’s humidity. Synthetic hair wigs are less affected by the weather and require minimal styling – that means you can give your hot tools a rest!

Check out all capless wigs at Wigs.com here.

    2.      Do: Protect your wig.

The summer is nothing without sunshine! Bad news is the sun can be equally hard on your wig as it is on your skin and hair. The fact is prolonged sun exposure can do irreparable damage to your synthetic and human hair wigs. Protect your wig by spraying some leave-in conditioner on it before you go out. Also, a shine serum can restore sheen and moisture to the fiber to refresh it between washes.

Which takes us to our next point: Wash. Your. Wig. Sweating a little, sweating a lot – either way, it can get pretty ugly. Consider washing your wig more frequently to manage buildup (we suggest every 4-5 wears).

Check out the awesome care products by BeautiMark for your synthetic or human hair wigs here.

    3.      Do: When in doubt, Accessorize!

Hats and scarves can be your wig’s best friend. They not only protect your wig from the sun but they add some style to your summer wardrobe! There’s always a ton of trendy summer head wear to choose from. Give your wig the day off and wear them solo!

The Sure Grip and the No Sweat Liners are great accessories to use under your wig. They will help to keep your wig from slipping out of place while absorbing that extra bit of sweat. So don’t be afraid to dive into a game of beach volleyball – you’re covered!

Check out all headwear and liners here.

As you can see, cool and chic summer hair with your wigs is possible. So, WORK IT with our cool summer wig tips – it’s never too hot to look good!

    Bangs.

    Perms.

    Sun-In.

Do we hear a unanimous cringe? Yeah, most of us have a hair problems, don't stress out tress outspray-in hair highlighter or perm horror story to tell and boy, are they scary (and ugly!). We’ve all been there – stuck with a case of bad hair blues. Think about how long it took you to grow out those self-cut bangs, or that bad perm… painful to think about it, isn’t?

The thing is too often you end up with a hairstyle that is either too costly, high maintenance or damaging to your natural hair. There’s no reason why you should put your hair under so much stress, especially if your hair is thinning and falling out.

With summer only a few weeks away you must be itching for a new look. And we all know you’d do just about anything in the name of good hair. But would you give wigs and hair extensions a chance?

    Hair Extensions & Wigs

The times are changing and alternative hair is becoming the norm. Just take a look around you! It’s super easy to change up your hairstyle with a wig or hair extensions - and the choices are endless. You can go from long to short hair without ever picking up a pair of scissors. If you’re looking to be a sassy redhead for the night, or have wildly curly or sexy tousled hair, you really don’t need to resort to those harsh chemicals that will harm your own hair.

Protect your hair by wearing wigs and clip-in hair extensions. There’s no shame in wearing them, they’ll only make your life easier.
