Tips & Tricks

Although synthetic wigs are super easy to wear, the fiber can sometimes have an unnatural shine. “What?” you ask, “I thought shine was a good thing.” It is, but you want the shine of your synthetic wigs, hairpieces and extensions to match the shine of naturally-growing human hair.

To reduce that fake shine, Jon Renau designed the Wig Wand. Simply tap the wand on your wig (or hairpiece or extensions) to distribute a small amount of wig powder. Or you can also sprinkle a little hair powder on your wig and brush through. And Presto! These methods will help give the piece a more natural appearance.

Tired of wearing your wig the same way every day? Do you feel like your wigs need a little extra something? The simple trick of adding a headband, scarf, or hairclips can really amp up your style. Sure, you’re wearing a wig, but you can still accessorize it like your own hair!

TIP: for longer wigs, try pulling all the hair to the side in a low ponytail and secure it with a bejeweled hair elastic. For shorter wigs, experiment with embellished headbands, a summer hat, or a long scarf for a beach-inspired or bohemian look.

Hair accessories are fashionable for summer, and they instantly help make your wig look uniquely yours! For more great Expert Tips like these, visit
