    Wedding Hairstyle

You only get married once in a lifetime… for the first time (hey, it happens!). Which is why you are expected to look picture perfect on your wedding day. Now I don’t know about you, but that’s a lot of pressure.

Besides the dress, the wedding hairstyle and makeup are two of the most essential components of that picture-perfect look. Like makeup, the hair must be expertly sculpted into place. This is easier said than done, especially if it happens to rain on your wedding day. So what’s a gal to do?

    Wigs for Your Wedding Hairstyle

Believe it or not, it’s ok to wig out on your wedding day. No, seriously it is, and no one will call you Bridezilla either.

In other words, you have the option of choosing to wear a wig for your wedding hairstyle. You’re guaranteed a head full of beautiful hair and the perfect wedding hairstyle just the way you like it.

Convinced yet? Well, before you run off to make your purchase, here are a couple of tips you’ll want to consider prior to choosing your wedding hairstyle.

Wig Tips for Your Wedding Hairstyle

    1. Lace is usually associated with weddings for its delicate and intricate beauty. While it’s true that a lace wedding dress is not for everyone, a lace front wig certainly is. Lace front wigs are going to offer the most natural and seamless appearance, because the lace front is made from a mesh-like material that is designed to blend in with your skin to mimic your natural hairline. This helps disguise the wig so that no one can tell where it begins. Tip: If the lace front does not match your skin tone, you can use makeup to blend it into your skin.
    2. Updos are the quintessential go-to wedding hairstyle because of their elegant and put-together look. And, guess what? You can wear a wig in an updo as well. The trick is to keep the style low and loose, in order to hide the wig at the nape. You can wear a low chignon, side updo, or even a loose pony – all of these looks will result in a beautiful and romantic wedding hairstyle. Tip: Apply some adhesive or tape to keep the weight of the hair from pulling back the wig.
    3. Another crucial point to consider is the kind of fiber to purchase. If you’re set on the wedding hairstyle you want, you may want to purchase a synthetic hair wig in the style you desire. However, if you like a little flexibility, you’ll want to purchase a fiber that is easily customizable such as human hair or heat-friendly synthetic hair. Though when it comes to stylability, human hair wigs are the way to go for your wedding hairstyle. Tip: Human hair wigs such as Angie & Kate will retain fullness and body even after they are washed.

At the end of the day the possibilities for a fabulous wedding hairstyle are endless! With the wide variety of wigs available today you’re sure to find the perfect one for you. Sarah-Catherine, winner of the Wigs.com video contest, wore her favorite go-to wig, Sky by Noriko as her wedding hairstyle. She danced the night away in beautiful picture perfect hair… and you can too.

    Hot date – Check.

    Drop-dead gorgeous dress – Check.

Killer shoes – check Check CHECK!

Prom is coming up and you're ready for the magical night! But wait a second… Hair style? (Cue deep sigh.) That’s when you remember you still have no idea how to do your prom hair.

Have you been avoiding the whole hairdo concept because of how overwhelmed you feel when you think about it? Your hair may not be as long as you wish it were, it might be too thin and drab for an updo or worse yet, you’re experiencing hair loss. We know how you feel. But believe it or not, it’s still possible to get the look you want. So, stop avoiding the issue cause we’re here to help!

    Hair Extensions

You’ll want to let the neckline of your dress be the guide for the hairstyle you choose. Hair extensions are a great way to add a lot of look in a quick and easy way. When we say you can achieve prom hair in a snap, we mean literally!

    Cute & Simple

Bellissima braid hairpiece Dancing with the Stars

If you want to wear your hair down, try this thin fishtail headband. The Bellissima braid is perfect for a spaghetti strap dress. This headband instantly transforms your hairstyle into a super trendy look. Braids were seen everywhere at this year’s red carpet!

Tip: Tease the hair at the crown to add a bit of height to your hair.

    Bombshell Hair

easiXtend Elite Remy Human Hair hair extensions by easihair

Not only does Gisele Bündchen have a killer body (leg envy) but also her hair is in a constant state of perfection. That long beautiful hair is her signature. Not to mention those effortless curls make her look as if she were constantly shooting near a beach! (Obviously we love to hate this woman.) Want the same look sans the sand and humidity? Try the easiXtend remy human hair extensions, available in both 16 and 20 inches. This 8pc extension system perfectly adds the length and volume you need to mimic the bombshell look. This hairstyle compliments all dress necklines.

Tip: Get the beach waves look by using the Enzo Milano curling iron.

    Glam Updo

    Stylemaker Hairwrap POP

Updos are the epitome of glamour. But a lot of the times they can look stiff and pageantry. A messy (but chic) updo is the perfect antidote to a dated hairstyle. Simply wrap the Stylemaker hairpiece around your bun and you’re good to go! This hairstyle is particularly perfect for a dress with a high neckline.

Tip: For EXTRA glam add accessories such as a sparkly barrette or a jeweled headband.

    Pony Up in Style

The ponytail continues to be all the rage this season! It’s a quick and easy hairstyle that has proven to be just as glamorous as the most intricate of updos. The 23” Wrap Around Pony adds the length you need to be the ‘mane’ beauty of the night. AND this hairpiece is made from heat-friendly synthetic hair so you can add a tighter curl or straighten for a long sleek ponytail. The ponytail is perfect for halter-top necklines, although it will look great with any dress.

Tip: Update the pony look by teasing at the crown to create a ‘bump’.

    Wigging Updos

If you suffer from hair loss there’s no reason why you shouldn’t still rock the heck out of the prom with a wig. Wigs can look just as good (in some cases better!) than your own natural hair. You have a TON of options to choose from: short to long, straight to curly, synthetic hair or human hair – you name it! In fact, you could even wear your wig in an updo!

Always by Raquel Welch is the perfect example of how you could wear your wig in a down do! So please don’t let your hair loss get in the way of having a wonderful time at one of the most special nights of your life.

    Trends to Try

Every New Year begins with hopeful dreams and a daunting little thing called “resolutions.” The word alone is enough to scare anyone away, add to that - losing weight, saving more, getting out of debt and we're ready to throw in the towel. The problem with each of these goals is it takes time to see results - if any (come on, get real). Changing your hairstyle, however, is a great way to get an immediate sense of accomplishment. And most importantly, feel pretty.

So that brings us to today’s post: What’s on your head for 2012?

If you’re ready for a change, whether it’d be permanent or not, choose from the following hairstyle trends for 2012. But hurry because they're spreading like wildfire! As is the case with any trend, hair fashion this year is all about revival and evolution.

    Glistening Hair

No time for a blowout? No problem! Go a la naturale! Glistening slicked back hair, a.k.a. “the wet look,” has been prominent on the fashion runways and red carpets alike. Air-dry your hair, add gel and/or mousse to the roots and either wear your hair slicked back or in a ponytail. If you’re going to try this look on your wig make sure to use the appropriate products for your synthetic or human hair wig. This will not only ensure the best look but will prolong your wig’s longevity.

    Center-Part

Coined by Glamour magazine, “Cher hair,” the center part hairstyle is a throwback to the ‘70s long straight hair. For a bohemian look, simply air-dry and part your hair down the middle. If you want a super sophisticated look, straighten your hair with a flat-iron and finish off with a frizz-free hair serum. You’ll be singing “I Got You Babe,” in no time!

    Finger Waves

If straight hair is not the thing for you… but you’re kind of sick of spiral curls, finger waves might do the trick. This hairstyle was very popular in the 1920s and 1930s (think Roxie Hart/Renée Zellweger's hair in the musical Chicago). Apply gel generously to the hair, and comb the hair into ridges and curves using your fingers. Quick tip: an easier way to achieve this look is to create the ridges with a flat-iron instead of using your fingers; this will give you a softer look and last longer. The end result is an ultra glam Old Hollywood hairstyle. Who needs sexy? Let’s bring Glamorous back!

    Bold Color

Obviously Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry are responsible for the bold color trend. Last year, the pastel color family was in vogue (cue Kate Bosworth’s horrible tie-dye highlights). For 2012, the bolder the better! From Selena Gomez to Katy Perry, numerous celebrities have started to show their true colors this year. Are you afraid of making the commitment? Try a wig! It’s the perfect way to experiment and have some fun. By the way, can somebody tell Kelly Osbourne that her grey-toned hair is so 2011? Actually scratch that, artificial grey hair has never (thankfully!) been a popular trend.

    Braided Updos

2011 was partial to the braid: side braids, high braids, low braids, and fishtail braids – you get the picture. Well, for 2012 the traditional braid is getting a makeover! Limp plaits are a thing of the past, now it’s all about twisted buns and intricate updos. Charlize Theron was one of the first celebrities to give this trend its debut at the 17th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards. So all you savvy hairstylists out there give those fingers a stretch and get to braiding! If you’re not as experienced with weaving hair and the look intimidates you – no worries! You have all of 2012 to learn.

There you have it, all promising hairstyle trends for 2012! So which one will you try?
