One of the many advantages to a human hair wig is that you can color it. While you can always go for another natural color, fun colors are currently trending on Hollywood celebrities and in hair salons all over. But if you don't want the commitment of coloring your own hair, you can get a human hair wig and color it how you like without worry. Also, this will protect your own hair from the damage that can be caused by color chemicals.

Vivian, a client and professional hair stylist, shared with us her how-to guide to give a human hair wig a fun color. Vivian actually has her own beautiful hair and doesn't experience hair loss, but she loves wearing wigs for fun and decided to use her skills to try out a new look. She started with Cascade by Ellen Wille in color Light Champagne Rooted.

These are the steps to give your human hair wig a fun color:

Step 1 - Apply fashion color of choice all over the hair in a bowl or the sink. Make sure to saturate the hair completely and then allow the appropriate processing time. Follow instructions provided by the coloring product you used.

Step 2 - Rinse and wash the hair with shampoo and conditioner. We recommend the Pure Care System by BeautiMark.

Step 3 - Let air dry and brush lightly. We recommend the Hair Trix Comb by BeautiMark.

Step 4 - Style as desired once hair is fully dry with heat tools.

Vivian also wanted to give her hair a rooted look. These are the additional steps if you'd like to do the same.

Step 5 - Part hair as desired and apply brown or black mascara to create a grown-out, natural look to the top and edges of hair.

Step 6 - Tweeze very carefully a small amount of hair where the natural part will fall as desired.

Step 7 - Apply color matched to skin face powder on part line to blend and create a natural look of the scalp.
