First, we’d like to give thanks to Ellen Wille for the exclusive opportunity to work with them behind the scenes of their lavish photo shoot on this collection.

Perucci is the next generation of wigs! Inspired by the rebellious, young and creative, this Collection highlights gorgeous long styles and exciting short cuts. These new envogue styles are defined by their inspiring color shades and natural rooted effects.

Everyone loves Carrie! With its beautifully straight hair and bold fringe, it’s not hard to see why. Every great wig begins with the cap (the material the hair is attached to). And what makes this synthetic wig one to be admired is the mono-crown construction. Each hair is individually weaved into the crown, giving any woman the look of hair naturally flowing out of her own scalp, which is just that right touch of something special that makes this long look adorable.

Be curious for more in Load-a voluminous and feminine, shoulder-length look made of synthetic fiber. The cap features a monoparting crest, which means you get a natural part in a beachy wave style that’s always ready to go. We bet you’ll get loads of compliments in this one!

Looking forward to new styles? Point is an adorable asymmetrically cropped cut that lifts up the texture at the crown, then descends into a sharp bang as it gets straight to the point. Featuring a mono-crown curl, you get a natural part and the illusion of hair growing naturally from your own scalp. If you’re feeling up to it, let it rock in this color (hotflame mix) for a bold rebellious statement.

Get ready for the next step. Echo is another rockstar that’s loud and glorious. This synthetic modern bob style with long pony parts delivers a girlishly feminine and flirty look with glam rock style. It features a lacefront with monoparting crest to give you a look that makes the hair appear as if its growing out of your own scalp with a natural part. This is a style you’ll want to wear again and again.

Wiki is like a refreshing breeze. It’s a mid-length that strikes a perfect balance between a short and long style. The basic cap means you get open wefting for ventilation to help keep your scalp cool. The natural-looking beach curls offer a slightly messy style that’s chic and easy to maintain, perfect for those without a lot of time for styling. Don’t miss out on this fun curly beauty!

Always the trendsetter in wigs, these new styles from the Perucci Collection promises that Ellen Wille will never to be outdone. You’ll always be a step ahead in the Perucci Next Generation Wigs!

Brought to you by the experts at:

Human hair that is used in the alternative hair industry goes through extensive processing for sorting, coloring, texturizing, etc. before it is attached to the base of a wig, hair system, or extension. Due to this processing, alternative human hair must be cared for differently than biological hair. Following proper care and product recommendations will help you protect your investment and have a successful experience with your human hair piece:

Jon Renau recommends washing your wig or hairpiece every 6-8 wears

The common misconception about care is that by washing your wig/hair system more often, the cap and fiber will not last as long. On the contrary, washing every 6-8 wears ensures you are removing the sweat, make up, and oils from your skin that sit within the elastic base of the cap and break down the cap much faster.

Deep condition your human hair wig or hairpiece every 3-5 washes to keep the vitality of the human hair

Keep away from any hand-tied areas of the base when applying conditioners, conditioning treatments, or any oil-based products. These products can loosen the hand-tied knots over time and cause hair loss in your wig/hair system.

Use care products that are specifically formulated for alternative hair
Although professional salon products are formulated and work great for biological hair, alternative human hair requires different care. It is essential to use only products that are specifically formulated for alternative human hair and refrain from using salon or drugstore care products.

    Use professional styling tools
Whether the hair is wet or dry it is important to take special care when removing tangles. We recommend using a brush with plenty of cushion in the base and flexible wide-spaced bristles. This design prevents excessive pulling that causes breakage in the hair, in the knots or in the delicate area of the lace front or monofilament.

Our pick: Jon Renau Paddle Brush

When blow drying, we recommend using a boar bristle brush with about 20% nylon bristles to adequately grab the hair without creating too much tension. Additionally, the brush’s nylon bristles must be longer than the boar bristles in order to help smooth the hair and ensure a sleek finish.

Our pick: Jon Renau Round Boar Bristle Brush

This brush is intended for use on human hair only, not traditional or high heat synthetic fibers.

    Use professional grade heat-styling tools
Professional grade tools are meant to deliver well-distributed heat without causing damage to the hair via their ceramic or tourmaline plates versus the less expensive metal or glass plates found in lower quality tools. The digital temperature settings on professional heat-styling tools also ensure you are working at the correct temperature all the time. To help maintain the integrity of the hair, your styling tools should be set no higher than 350° F when working with human hair.

We recommend only using non-sticking protectants and styling sprays that prevent heat damage to your human hair wig or hair piece.

Our pick: Jon Renau Heat Treat Thermal Spray

The proper size cap goes a long way when it comes to ensuring the most natural look and feel of your wig. While average size wigs will fit 95% of wig wearers, a number of wigs also come in petite and large sizes. Knowing the measurements of your head will help you select a wig that’s the perfect fit for you.

Determining the Size of Your Head

In order to do this, you will need:

    • a tape measure
    • a piece of paper
    • and something to write with

    1. Start by measuring the circumference of your head. With the tape measure at your front hairline, guide the tape measure down the side of your head behind your ear continuing to the nape of your neck underneath the occipital bone (which is the bone that protrudes from the back of your head), then behind the other ear until you’re back to the front hairline, and jot down the measurement.

    1. Then measure ear to ear by first establishing the top most part of your head. Do this by measuring 7 inches back from your front hairline. This is the point where the tape measure will need to pass as you measure ear to ear. Guide the tape measure from the hairline of one ear through the top most part of your head, to the hairline of the other ear and jot this measurement down.

    1. Finally, measure front to back by holding the tape measure at the front hairline, then run it all the way to your back hairline. Jot this measurement down, then consult the table below.

In general, the size of your head will fall into one of the categories above. But don’t worry if your measurements don’t match up to any of the standard sizes. Choose the wig size indicated by the largest measurement you wrote down.

Finding Your Cap Size On Our Website

To see all of our wigs by size, go up to the tabs menu and hover over the “wigs” tab, which will give you a drop down menu. The third column in the drop down menu will be our Cap Sizes. From here you can select Petite, Average, or Large to see every wig available in the cap size you want.

*note: Everyone’s head is its own unique shape. Most wigs come with a feature to help you adjust the wig for a more custom fit.

Was this information useful to you? We’d love to hear from you. Please share with us techniques you use to ensure you get the perfect fit. Checkout more information about wig sizing here. And don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

Wigs have come a long way since your grandmother’s day! The new advancements in alternative hair technology come together to deliver the most contemporary styles making it impossible to tell the difference between a wig and natural hair.

But, before you consider style and color, it’s important to find the best cap to suit your needs so you can fully enjoy your wig.

    The Base

The wig cap or base, is the material the wig hairs are attached to. Newer caps are lighter and more durable to give you a more comfortable fit and a look that’s completely natural. There are four basic types of cap features you should be familiar with next time you’re looking for a wig. Each one has its particular advantages, and unique technique by which hair is attached.

    4 Types of Cap Features

    100% Hand-tied

Also known as 100% hand-knotted, these comfortable and lightweight caps are among the very best available. Each hair is individually hand-tied to the cap to create the most natural movement. This allows the hairs to move freely, and you get the added bonus of styling versatility which allows you to comb the hair in any direction. It has the softest and smoothest base which contours to the scalp, giving a near custom fit; ideal for sensitive scalps or hair loss.

There are two types of monofilament tops:

    •  A full mono top allows for parting and styling versatility.
    •  A double mono top gives an extra layer of soft material for added comfort (perfect for sensitive skin or scalps).

This is a wonderful option that offers very natural hair growth from the scalp where the hair is parted. The monofilament can be found just at the crown, along a pre-defined part or across the full top of the wig. Similar to the 100% hand-tied caps, each hair is individually hand-tied to a sheer base (but not the entire cap).

    Lace front

These caps are more popular than ever! Once very expensive and found only on Hollywood productions, they are now much more accessible. Made of delicate materials that should be handled with care, the lace goes from temple-to-temple, or are extended from ear-to-ear and designed to blend in with a variety of skin tones. Each hair is individually tied to the cap, but like monofilament wigs (not to the entire cap).  This allows for styling the hair away from the face while maintaining the illusion of a natural front hair line. Most are ready-to-wear and don’t require tape or adhesive for attachment.

    Basic cap

These are the most durable and affordable wig caps. They include both cap-less and traditional constructions, identified by the open wefting in the cap for better air ventilation. A weft is a curtain of hair sewn onto the cap. The hair on these caps are pre-teased at the root to mask the cap beneath, which often gives the hair natural volume at the crown.

You may find that some styles incorporate more than one cap feature, some even vary by brand. Knowing about these cap features will help you choose wigs that are more comfortable and better suited for your needs.

Top pieces are a great solution for localized hair loss. The best top piece covers the affected area while delivering exceptional comfort. Identifying the nature and extent of your hair loss is the key to determining the right solution for your needs.

Stages of Hair Loss: The first step in determining what kind of coverage you need is to identify your stage of hair loss.

Stage I: Hair loss is in a diffused pattern on top of the head. Hair loss at this stage is noticeable, but minimal.
Stage II: Hair loss is more noticeable, and more of the scalp may be visible.
Stage III: At this stage hair loss is very noticeable, and the scalp is clearly visible.

Area of Hair Loss: The second step is to identify the location of hair loss.

Front/Fringe: Hair loss is localized at or near the front hair line.
Part: Hair loss is localized within the top of the scalp near the part or crown.
Top: Light to moderate hair loss localized at the top of the scalp near the part or the crown.
Crown: Hair loss is localized at or near the back of the scalp.
Diffused: Hair loss is localized at the top of the scalp and is spread through much of the area.
    Total/Complete: Complete loss of hair.

The Best Solution: The third step is to select the best type of coverage for your need.

Clip-in bangs/fringe are the perfect solution for thinning hair at the front hairline or temples.

Clip-in, volumizing hairpieces and extensions help you fill in thinning areas or fine hair. This is the ideal solution for hair loss localized within a smaller area of the head.

Clip-in top pieces with smaller bases work best for light to moderate hair loss at the top of the head near the part or crown.

Clip-in top pieces with larger bases are the solution for extensive hair loss at the top, crown, or more diffused stages of hair loss.

100% Hand-Tied & Double Monofilament Wigs are the ideal solution for complete hair loss and the preferred wigs by women with hair loss because of the smoother surface and comfortable caps which eliminate irritation and friction against the scalp.
