Hello, my name is Pauline, I had my son when I was 18 years old and I was diagnosed with cancer when I was 24. Being a single mother and going through cancer was not easy, but I am so thankful for my son because after cancer, I couldn't have anymore children.

It all started when I was put into the hospital for 3 months for severe stomach pains. Initially, the doctors had no idea what was wrong. They decided to do a pap test which saved my life. They found spots on my cervix. The surgery came next and when they opened me up they found cancer had consumed my whole uterus, cervix and tubes. They had to remove it all. I stayed cancer free until 1999 when I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. I had surgery to remove one half of my thyroid. After the first surgery is when I started to lose my hair.

I'm now 43 years old and cancer-free. I still continue to lose my hair, but with a positive attitude and prayer I survived. Things are looking up and I am going to be a grandmother in January 2008. I'm really looking forward to enjoying my grandchildren, free of cancer.

The wigs I have purchased from Wigs.com have given me a great boost to my self esteem. I've been wearing synthetic wigs and I'm saving up to buy a human hair wig. Thanks to Wigs.com I can go out in public without stares, which means so much.

And to those going through something similar, just remember to keep a positive attitude and KNOW "It is possible to survive life's obstacles".

Thank you,

Pauline

Jennifer's Story :: February 2008
Well, I want to start off by saying I ordered my wig on the 19 of Feb. and it arrived 5 days later...and I live on the other side of the world as far as I’m concerned! I was so excited when it arrived.

I lost my hair from the chemo/radiation treatments that I am going through. I have been having a really hard time with the fact that I am bald…I tried two other wigs and they were really hard to wear itchy and uncomfortable.

I wore my new wig to school this morning and I want to let you know that it is the first time I’ve felt good since I was diagnosed. Wigs.com saved my confidence….I’ve had it on for 6 hours now and I received so many compliments that I’ve lost count. Thank so much for being great at what you do…God Bless you all.

I could go on and on I hope you know that you really helped me hold my head up high!

Thanks so much,

Jennifer B.

Pamela's Story :: October 07
Hi, my name is Pamela. I had breast cancer surgery on 9-4-2007. My first chemotherapy treatment will be 10-16-2007. I have not lost my hair yet but I’ve already started the process of finding the right wig. I have been on every wig website for the last week. I have found that Wigs.com is the most informational site out of them all. I also see that the categories are aplenty and are so helpful to me. I am scared out of my mind to lose my hair yet again. When I was 14 my hair started falling out which was later diagnosed as alopecia. So my fear of being different and people talking about me is coming back to me as I prepare to lose my hair again. I know I can and I will find the right wig on this website which will be comforting and will help me deal with the fears of my childhood. I also know that I can reach someone here that will help me through the process.

Thank you Wigs.com!

Pamela

A Breast Cancer Patient (& hopefully survivor)

Beverly's Story :: October 07
One year ago my life was turned upside down when I received the call every woman dreads: "I'm sorry. Your pathology report came back as we suspected. You have cancer."

The doctor went on talking, telling me to call a surgeon in the morning, etc., etc. I can't recall all she said. My mind was reeling. "No, this can't be. What did I do to deserve this? I'm not ready to die. I thought I’d have more time. How will my husband work and take care of the kids?” I numbly hung up the phone and looked at my husband and started to cry. . .

As an RN I knew some of what lay ahead, but I'd never worked in oncology. As I suspected the surgeon recommended a mastectomy and the oncologist recommended chemo followed by radiation. My hair started falling out shortly after starting chemo, just like they said it would. I hate to admit my vanity but losing my hair was worse than losing a breast. People could see my ugly, bald head.

My husband and I searched the internet and found Wigs.com. We picked out a few wigs we thought would look nice on me. I wore one just about all the time and I couldn't believe the change in how I felt about myself!

A friend who is a cancer survivor had asked me if I would be in the Gilda's Club fundraising fashion show. I was apprehensive at first because of my bald head but found the confidence thanks to your wigs. They gave me the courage to carry on. I had a great time and supported a good cause at the same time!

Sheryl's Story :: October 07
While I’m not your million dollar customer, I feel like I am. Your staff has provided me with extraordinary customer service. Every person I have encountered has been knowledgeable, professional and patient. Due to my hair loss, as a result of chemo, I was under extreme time constraints and thankfully I received everything in time. I am grateful to be able to rely on Wigs.com and its staff to answer all my questions, resolve all my issues all while maintaining a kind demeanor. Thank you for demanding such a high level of excellence from your employees.

Lana's Story :: November 07
My name is Lana and I live in Colorado. In 1999 at the age of 36, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The diagnosis itself was a scary thing, but sadly the thing that freaked me out the most was chemotherapy and my hair falling out. I actually held it together pretty well until the nurse said I would definitely lose my hair. At that point I had a really good cry. I spent approximately 6 months getting various forms of chemotherapy, a lumpectomy and a mastectomy with reconstruction. For the past 6 ½ years I have been cancer-free, for which I am ever thankful, but I am left every day with a reminder of the chemotherapy in that I can’t grow a full head of hair, eyebrows or eyelashes. Therefore I am becoming an experienced wig wearer, thanks to Wigs.com. I believe I have owned 8 wigs now. Every now and then I start to have a pity party for myself – then I have a little “talk” with myself and remember that things could be so much worse.

There are advantages to wearing wigs, such as the ability to change my look if I choose. But for me finding a good wig boutique is not an easy task. There are only a couple I have found in the Denver area but they are both a bit of a drive from where I live. I am so drawn to your website because of your great selection, plus I like that you have live chat available as well as licensed cosmetologists on staff. You have some great styles and your prices are unbelievable! Buying a new wig can be a daunting thing because it is something that will be part of my wardrobe for a long time, but Wigs.com makes it as easy. I usually wear one for at least 4-6 months before I get a new one.

Thank you!

Lana
