Finally a believable wig for redheads! Angelica vs Orchid
Love Orchid in the color R133/24H! I also have Noriko's Angelica in Copper Glaze - and while I adore Angelica, this is a step up due to the monofilament and lace front- and the bigger cap size.
Like the previous reviewer Shannon I also have quite pale skin and Orchid is the only lace front wig so far I wear confidently without major efforts to disguise the hairline. The lace front blends so well on me, you have to be a few inches from my hairline and know what you are looking for. Orchid was the first wig wig that the hubby called 'very natural and said that it looked great.
I do feel that Noriko fibers are more silky and less coarse, but it is still fine enough.
Another great bonus is the larger and more forgiving cap size when comparing Angelica and Orchid- the Orchid cap size is a touch larger and therefore I am not constantly tugging at the hairline that can slip on the Angelica. Great news for those of us that have to sew on comb after comb into Noriko wigs.
It is lovely to have found a reddish wig in a larger capsize with a monofilament, less visible permatease (there is some, but it is fairly obstructed from view), in a longer cut. Most of us fellow redheads have a hard time finding something similar on the market- Orchid in R133/24H is my new favorite.
Orchid also feels lighter than Noriko's Angelica. I almost forget she's on my head, not too bad for a wig of this length.
Mine came a lot more curled than the stock photos would suggest, but 10 minutes of my Helen of Troy hot airbrush did a good job uncurling some of it.
Don't get me wrong, the curls looked lovely, but loosening them up a little bit more also thinned it out a bit, depoufed it making it even more believable and closer to my texture. This is not considered a heat safe wig, but a Helen of Troy airbrush on the high setting is *just* enough heat to style it if needed without causing any damage.
Only downside so far is that the Orchid seems to tangle a bit faster than the Noriko Angelica, but hopefully the leave in conditioner will help that.
Estetica, please don't ever stop making Orchid in R133/24H, I love the cut, the length, the monofilament, lace front and the color. Very happy with the Orchid.
Fellow redheads, this is the wig for you!
Great cut with lace front and mono part, I love her!
Great wig - so believable!!
This is an amazing wig great fiber and the highlights are beautiful. I think the Estetica line has some of the best colors out there especially the highlighted ones. I bought the R12/26 which is dark blonde with natural highlights. It looks very similar to the Gisele by Jon Renau but it is less expensive because you can't move the part around but it is very natural with a lace front and not itchy!! Give this a try - it's a great piece!
Best hair fiber I've found!
Not sure what it is but Estetica has softest and most durable hair fiber of those I've worn (including Amore & Jon Renau). It is non-shiny right out of the box looking most like natural medium density wavy hair (not too silky but not coarse either-- Just perfectly believable. Hair holds up under frequent brushing washing wind etc. I prefer this lace front material to others because it is so soft and blends in with my light complexion. Other brands' lace always seems a bit too orangey or peachy on my skin but I feel Estetica brand is more believable on lighter skin tones. This color is R133/24H. Great job blending auburn tones with realistic highlites. A very good buy.
