Whether you’re starting to go gray or have a full head of gray hair, making the transition from gray hair to wigs might seem daunting. If you’re looking for the right shade of gray, here are a few colors that may help you get started on your journey to gray wigs:

  • If you’re looking for darker grays, try Ellen Wille's Steel Gray, Jon Renau's 56F51 Oyster, or Raquel Welch’s R511G Gradient Charcoal.
  • If you’re looking for lighter grays, try Ellen Wille’s Silver Mix and Salt and Pepper mix or Jon Renau’s 39/51/60 Mist.

If you're not ready to go full gray, we have wigs that have natural colors with a gray blend and highlights!

  • If you want dark brown hair, check out these colors: Ellen Wille's Pepper Mix, Raquel Welch's R388G Gradient Smoked, and Jon Renau's colors 34 Peppercorn and 38 Milkshake.

While you can customize the shape and cut of your gray wig, you risk damaging the hair fibers and ruining the wig. We highly recommend taking it to a salon professional. If you’re searching for a specific length or haircut, our collection of gray wigs are available in various hairstyles and lengths, so you can avoid the salon and show off your new look!

Caring for your gray wig plays a huge role in how long it’ll last and the kind of experience you’ll have with it. Here are some tips to prolonging the life of your wig:

  • Wash your wig every 6-8 wears. Avoid soaking your wig and do not put conditioner on the knots.
  • Place your wig on a wig stand when you’re not wearing it. You can also store your wig in its wig box for long term storage.
  • Make sure you are using care and styling products specially made for wigs and formulated for each fiber, particularly shampoos and conditioners.
  • Detangle the wig hair often with a wide tooth comb. Also, be sure to use a detangling spray for synthetic fibers.
