A Wig For Harper

At Wigs.com, our mission is to uplift and empower individuals experiencing hair loss by offering hope, confidence, and compassion through wigs. To bring this mission to life, we partner with brands and passionate advocates — including Amy Gibson, who made this story possible.

Amy Gibson is an Emmy-nominated actress turned international wig designer, a national spokesperson for hair loss awareness, and the creator of the ResQ™ Bag — the original travel-friendly wig carry-all designed for quality, discretion, and protection. With decades of experience and heartfelt advocacy, Amy has helped countless individuals regain their confidence through wearable hair.

Today, we’re honored to share the inspiring journey of Harper, a courageous 8-year-old with an unbreakable spirit.

At 8 years old, Harper has been through more than most girls her age. When she was just two months old, she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Her parents were devastated to learn she had only a 10% chance of survival. After eight months of exhaustive treatments, Harper was finally able to go home. But the battle wasn’t over yet. She underwent 18 months of oral chemotherapy before going into remission.

Then, in March of this year, her family received the unfortunate news that her leukemia had returned. Within two weeks of starting chemo, Harper began losing her hair. At first, she cut it short to help with the noticeable loss. She worried about how other kids would perceive her without hair. A week later, Harper made the brave decision to shave her head.

Amy learned about Harper’s story and stepped in with care and urgency. Working together, we coordinated a wig donation from Raquel Welch, who generously contributed the ‘Stay the Night’ wig in 10/12 Sunlit Chestnut, a beautiful match to Harper’s natural color. Amy personally oversaw the customization of the wig to ensure the fit and style suited Harper perfectly.

Upon receiving the wig, Harper’s twin brother Cruz was by her side. When she opened the gift, her eyes lit up with joy. “It’s nice to have hair now,” Harper says, running her fingers through the silky hair. Her family captured this sweet moment on video:

According to her mother Macee, Harper affectionately named her new wig “Olivia” and proudly wears it out.

At Wigs.com, we believe every individual facing hair loss deserves to feel seen, supported, and beautiful. Harper’s radiant smile as she embraced “Olivia” reminds us why we do what we do — to bring moments of hope and confidence to those who need it most. We are honored to have been part of her story, and we remain committed to uplifting others like Harper through compassion, community, and the transformative gift of hair.
