  1. Gorgeous, comfortable, *THE* wig!
I wrote a full review of this wig, but I have yet to see it appear - anyway, this is the best wig I've ever owned and deserves a 5-star rating.

  2. Gorgeous, comfortable, *THE* wig!
In the interest of full disclosure, I found this wig at less-than half-price on the clearance section of another site, though I have previously made some of my wig-related purchases on I was eager to see what it was like, given that I have a large-ish head and Estetica has a reputation for running large - and that the style was shorter, which is what I like.

This wig has been one of the best purchases I've ever made in my life.

First - IT FITS. Estetica is known for comfort, and Carolyn did not disappoint. Its adjustability works very well, especially for larger heads. The fit is unrivaled by any other wig I've purchased. I found that Raquel Welch hand-tied ran far too small for me, as do Noriko and even Envy's hand-tied monofilament. Jon Renau's hand-tied wigs are quite stretchy and accommodating, which was nice - but this wig fits better than any other. If your head is on the larger side, Carolyn could be a godsend.

Secondly - the style. Now, Estetica doesn't have a reputation for being fashion-forward. Some would say their clientele is older and their styles are somewhat dated. The excellent thing about Carolyn is that, while the style itself is already quite respectable, the hair is highly malleable - you can adjust it with your hands to optimize how flattering it will look on you, and the hair tends to stay in that position. Personally I wear it back and off the hairline.

Third - Realism. Carolyn does not disappoint in this department, either. The hair fibers are not super-shiny as you will find with other brands - they are not ultra-coarse, nor are they baby-fine, but rather, exhibit a pleasing middle-ground. The lace is cut in a way that is VERY natural, something I have yet to see in other brands. As far as its translucence goes, I think it probably is more translucent the darker your skin is - if you have a tan or are an olive or darker-colored person, I think the naturalness of it may increase somewhat. It is not as translucent as Jon Renau's SmartLace - to give JR credit where they deserve it. It is, however, reasonable in this regard. I got it in 6/10, even though I'm really a 4 - and one thing I will say is that the hair at the lace doesn't have the 'knotty' characteristic you will sometimes find on other lacefront wigs - something with which I am quite happy. I'm not sure if this is unique to Estetica or Carolyn, or if it is a result of me buying it in a lighter color than usual. Either way it is quite welcome.

I find that is disguises my real hair fairly well, especially the side-burn area, which is often a cause for concern.

I've only bought one Carolyn and I plan to by another one. One thing that gives me pause is reports of people sometimes having problems with Estetica wigs - but I had no problems with the Carolyn I purchased. It's been one of the best things to ever happen to me. I would love to know what other people think of their Carolyns!

Anyway, thanks for reading my review, I hope it was informative. Stay beautiful everyone!
