A high maintenance girl
I bought this wig in sun kissed blonde with the idea of having my stylist trim and color it to make it look more like me. She was blown away by the quality of the hair. In the end, we didn't need to dye it, and liked the ombre look on the ends. But, we did give it a trim as this is a LOT of hair. I'm of English/Polish descent, so my own hair is not very thick. I thought it would be nice to have more voluminous locks, but this got crazy. After a few wearings, I couldn't control this wig to part it. I felt like Garth from Wayne's World. I called wigs.com and their customer service was amazing. Antoinette helped me and found a wigs.com employee who owned the wig. Her suggestion was to blow dry the wig. This is counterintuitive to everything I've heard about wigs, but it worked. This wig is really pretty, but it's not something you can just put on and go.
I gave this wig 5 stars because it exceeded my expectations after reading the other mixed reviews. The hair quality and texture was great.. it feels better than my hair ever did. And it looks like the hair is really growing out of my head. Luckily I got it during the 50% off sale or I wouldn't have been able to afford it. I'm already getting compliments on how good my new haircut looks!
When I purchased this wig in April I read the review about the tangles. I thought it had to be an exaggeration and bought it despite the review. When I got it the hair was silky and smooth. It was just gorgeous and very comparable the the $4K custom wigs I had been wearing for 15 years. About 4 weeks later came the tangles. And yes I was brushing it at least twice an hour. I have never seen anything like it. I compare it to a matted dog. The top of the hair and the sides were fine. Underneath at the neck is a disaster. If you touch your chin to you neck the hair in the back sticks out in one piece of a matted mess. The hair on the sides curls nice and the lace-front does not itch.
I suffered through for 4 months and have since purchased a different brand. I am in meetings and give classes throughout the day and having the back of your head look like you didn't brush after a nap is far from professional.
My Favorite wig!!
I always wanted to buy this wig based on the photograph but hesitated because of the reviews. Finally I took a chance and bought it anyway and have no regrets. I bought the wig in Ginger Brown. The color is beautiful the hair is silky soft and the hair density is perfect. The hair is not frizzy after I wash it and I have not had any problems with tangles or shedding. The lace front fits well and the hair line looks realistic. Also the cap is hand tied and fits perfectly. I absolutely love this wig! In fact I love it so much that I bought another in the color sunshine gold which is the color the model is wearing. The wig looks like the photograph. It's golden blond with dark roots. I like the roots which are visible.
Such a waste of money
If I could give this wig zero stars I would. What a waste of $1200 - after two months of wear it started knotting so bad I had to comb it out every 30 minutes throughout the day. I tried taking it to my hair stylist and putting leave in conditioner in it and spraying dry conditioner but nothing worked. Finally gave up and ordered a different wig. This was my first Louis Ferre wig and will probably be my last. I'm going to try a Jon Renau wig next.
I bought the color shown but didn't take it out of the box. The roots were too dark looking and if it were my own hair I would be embarrassed to have waited so long to get my hair colored. I sent it back. Having said that I really love Louis Ferre human hair wigs and have several and will continue to buy non-rooted shades.
