I have several will that I would like to donate. Where do I go
I have at least 7 wigs and one wig piece attached to a ball cap. But, so far I have no need for them anymore. I would like to donate them.
I know it’s not long enough now (9”) but it’s a little thin on top. Who can tell me that it will be fine once I get to the 12” mark. If it’s not, I’m getting a hair cut.
At age 38 I was diagnosed with a rare cancer back in 1989, even Doctors from Stanford Hospital came down to review my case . Kaiser Hospital was excellent and I had a wonderful Oncologist and the American Cancer Society came to offer support and any needs. Luckily when my hair grew back after 1 year of Chemo and 2 Rounds of Radiation and given a less than 30% success rate, here I am 33 years later. Had cancer again in 2011 (different place) and the Chemo they gave me wiped out most of my hair and never grew back..so I had to get wigs, it was devastating but learned to adjust…as I changed styles since then I have always donated to American Cancer Society, bought a lot of different styles but just didn’t like and couldn’t return so I set aside to donate and hope someone will like them . Cancer again in 2020, but Stage One, so they removed my Female Gizzards(lol) as I call them but I am a toughy and never gave up ! God Bless all of you FIGHTING THE FIGHT…never give up.
My story is a little different… I had Covid and chronic bilateral pnuemonia. I was put on. Ventilator for 7 days and hospitalized for a month. After much care and rehab I am now happy to say I’m alive and well. Approximately 3 months later my hair started falling out my throat handfuls. It was traumatic and devistating to say the least. With on 30% of my hair left and feeling like less than a woman. I started looking for wigs.. hair prices / falls worked better for me at the time. After spending lots of money on these human hair prices my hair grew in white. I am keeping it and owning it. I do want to know if there is a need for these items. I would love to donate to this cause. I can totally relate to the hair loss issues. Thank you and God bless you!
