Cookie by Ellen Wille is a mid-length shag that’s full of attitude. Part of the Perucci Collection, the heat friendly synthetic fiber gives unlimited styling potential. The choppy layers combined with its wavy texture create a stylishly tousled appearance. The breathable, open-wefted cap feels lightweight against the head. The extended lace front gives a natural-looking hairline, and the monofilament part simulates hair growing from the scalp.

I took a video of the back of my head

So naturally the pic of the wig with the wefts showing was concerning. When my Cookie arrived, I set up a tripod with my phone so I could see what was going on back there. I shook my head like a maniac and aggressively ruffled up the fibers, deliberately trying to lift up the lower layers in a way that I probably wouldn’t in normal life. There were a few moments where yes, I could catch a glimpse of the white label through the wefts. They were visible for a split second, and I kinda needed to slow down the footage to 0.4 speed to confirm. Again, this was me doing stuff to intentionally expose the wefts, and footage where I’m specifically watching for it.

Based on what I saw, I don’t think normal breezes and normal fiddling with your hair would be an issue. If you cut the label out, it would be even less of an issue since really it’s the contrast of the white label against the darker wefts and dark roots that made it noticeable. Without the label, I think it would all just look sort of shadowy and your eye would never be drawn there.

While I probably wouldn’t choose this wig to wear out on a speedboat or going swimming, I’d feel comfortable wearing it for everyday out and about life. Even the moments where I could catch a flash of white were SO brief. Someone would have to be staring at the back of your head at that exact second, and honestly, if they were? I don’t think it would even register for most people since they’re not expecting or looking to see a label underneath…

    Cute messy Bob

Cute easy throw and go. Still not as cute as my Link. Not sure she will be my go to style. I feel the fibers to look a bit dry. She is light and very natural looking. Love the density and the color. Wish EW would make more wigs in this color.

    Really fun Cookie!

This style suits my fun style exactly. I’ve had berry purple hair in the past as well as bright pink, but this coppery color is even better with my skin tone than the deep reds I’ve had. As usual this was a bit snug so I snipped the side elastics to fit my average size head and voila! Perfect 👌🏻

Perfect Wig… If You Never Turn Around

The cut on Cookie is absolutely adorable. It’s flattering, modern, and honestly one of the cutest wigs I’ve ever tried. From the front, she’s gorgeous… soft, tousled, and incredibly pretty. If they ever made a fully hand-tied version of this style, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Unfortunately, the back is where Cookie falls apart. The wefting is highly visible. I tried different wig caps and even experimented with adjusting how I wore it, but unless the wig sits perfectly still, the wefts show. If the wind blows, you touch your hair, or even if someone simply looks at you from behind, the wefting is obvious. The fact that even the tag sticks through the gaps tells you how sparse the coverage is.

For a wig at this price point, that’s a dealbreaker. A style this cute deserves better construction. From the front, she’s beautiful, but from the back, it’s just too “wiggy” to pass as natural.
