Styling Bangs on a Wig

With the right care and attention, you can achieve a stylish look with your wig and its bangs. Remember to be gentle when styling your wig to avoid damaging the fibers, especially if it's a synthetic wig.

Please Note: If the wig's bangs are too long or need shaping, we recommend going to a professional hair stylist as altered wigs cannot be returned.

What You Need:

Heat styling tools (for heat friendly fibers only): curling iron or flat iron.

Heat protectant spray (if using heat tools)

Hair Spray or shaping cream (optional)

Steps:

Here's a step-by-step guide to help you style a wig with bangs:

Step 1) Comb the wig. Before you begin styling your wig, gently comb the hair to remove any tangles or knots. Start from the tips and work your way up to avoid damaging the hair fibers.

Step 2) Spray with water. Take a spray bottle and generously spritz the front of the wig to moisten the bangs.

Step 3) Style the bangs. There are two methods for styling bangs, depending on your wig’s fiber type.

For traditional synthetic wigs: Heat up the fibers by rigorously rubbing your hands together until warm. Flatten them on your wig at the bangs area and hold them in your preferred placement. Use shaping cream to help the fibers hold in the style. Pro Tip: Warming the fibers will help you move them more easily, since traditional synthetic fibers cannot withstand heat tools.

For heat friendly fibers: Use heat styling tools to achieve your style goals for blunt bangs, side-swept bangs, curtain bangs, or curly/wavy bangs. Pro Tip: Before styling human hair, spray the fibers with a heat protectant to help prevent damage.

Step 4) Lock in the Style. Use hairspray and/or shaping cream to hold the bangs in place.

Step 5) Enjoy Your New Look. When you're done styling your bangs, you can now go out and show off your fresh new hairstyle.
