Mid Length Wigs FAQs

Mid-length wigs are great if you want longer hair but are not ready for a short cut. If you’re unsure about whether or not your hairstyle is a mid-length, here’s how you can tell. In order for a wig to be considered mid-length, the hair has to hit either just below the jawline or resting above the collarbone. Our collection of mid-length wigs include long bobs and shoulder-length hairstyles.

Our selection of mid-length wigs encompass hairstyles designed with both human hair and synthetic fiber. Human hair wigs look and feel like your natural hair because they are made with bio hair. Synthetic wigs are crafted with premium synthetic fibers that imitate the look and feel of natural hair. What’s cool about synthetic wigs is that some wigs are made with heat friendly synthetic fibers, so you can use heat tools to style the hair.

In addition to hair fibers, our mid-length wigs have various cap options available:

  • If you have a sensitive scalp, look for hand tied wigs. Wigs with hand tied caps give you a natural look because the individual hairs are tied by hand into the cap’s material to create the appearance of hair growth.
  • Basic cap wigs have sections of hair, also known as wefts, sewn into a thin elastic material. This cap design is considered to be more breathable because the open spacing around the wefts lets air flow into the wig.
  • Lace front wigs help create a natural hairline because the hairs are hand tied into the sheer film of lace that spreads across the top front of the wig. The length of a lace front can range from across the forehead to extending to the ears.
  • Monofilament wigs have sheer mesh material that allows the scalp’s skin tone to show through the hair fibers. This imitates hairs growing from the scalp for a realistic look. The hair fibers can either be tied by hand or sewn into sections into the top part of the cap. A full monofilament top allows you to part or brush the hair in any direction.

Before you try customizing your wig, we highly recommend taking your mid-length wig to a salon professional. Trying to customize your wig could potentially damage the hair fibers and ruin the wig. If you are looking for a mid-length style with bangs or want a particular layered style, check out our selection of mid-length wigs. We have a variety of hairstyles, colors, and textures, so you can easily find your perfect match. If you want to add bangs to your wig, you can also use clip in bangs to achieve your desired look.

  • Wash your wig every 6-8 wears.
  • Use styling and care products specially made for wigs and formulated for each fiber, especially shampoos and conditioners.
  • Detangle the wig hair often with a wide tooth comb. Also, be sure to use a detangling spray for synthetic fibers.
  • Place your wig on a wig stand or store it safely in its wig box for long term storage.

Mid-length wigs look great on oval-shaped faces and square shaped faces. However, even if you do not have those particular face shapes, do not let that stop you from trying a mid-length hairstyle. Here are some ideas if you have these particular face shapes:

  • Round faces look great with layered, mid-length hairstyles.
  • Heart-shaped faces pair well with long bobs.
  • Diamond-shaped faces look great with with wispy layers and bangs.
