What characterizes a wavy wig, and how is it different from curly wigs?

Wavy hair is characterized by its distinct texture where the hair fiber is between straight and curly. Sometimes wavy hair gets confused with curly hair. The way to tell the difference between the two is that waves form more of an S-shape while curly hair creates a full circle as it spirals downwards.

Are wavy wigs available in various wave patterns, such as loose waves or beach waves?

Our collection of wavy wigs comes in different wave patterns. These include: loose waves, beach waves, open waves, and crimped waves. Whether you like a cute bob with open waves or long tresses with stunning beach waves, you’ll look glamorous no matter which style you choose!

Can I find wavy wigs in different materials, such as human hair or synthetic?

The wavy wigs in our collection include styles made with synthetic and human hair.

  • Wigs made with human hair look and feel like your natural hair.
  • Wigs made with synthetic hair are crafted with top quality synthetic fibers that mimic the feel and look of bio hair. Some synthetic wigs are even made with heat friendly synthetic fibers, so you can style the hair with heat tools.

In addition to hair fibers, our wavy wigs also come in a variety of cap constructions:

  • Wigs with hand tied caps are an excellent choice if you have a sensitive scalp or looking for a natural look. The individual hairs are tied by hand into the cap to create the appearance of hair growth.
  • Monofilament wigs have see-through mesh material that allows the color of your scalp to show through to create the illusion of hair growth. The hair fiber can either be sewn or hand tied in sections into the top part of the cap. If you want more styling or parting versatility, check out wigs with a full monofilament top. This feature allows each of the tied hairs to be parted or brushed in any direction.
  • Lace front wigs give you a realistic hairline because the hairs are hand tied into the see-through lace material that extends across the top front of the wig. Depending on the style, wigs with lace fronts can range from across the forehead to extending to the ears.
  • Wigs with a basic cap construction are made with a thin elastic material that have sections of hair, also known as wefts, sewn into the cap. The open spacing around the wefts allows air to flow into the wig for breathability.

How do you maintain a wavy wig?

Caring and maintaining your wavy wig plays a role in how long it’ll last and the kind of experience you’ll have with it. Here are some tips to keep your wavy wig stylish and glamorous:

  • Never use a brush on your waves. Always use a wide tooth comb to detangle the wig hair. Also, be sure to use a good detangling spray for synthetic fibers.
  • If you use any care or styling products, make sure they are specially made for wigs and formulated for each fiber, especially shampoos and conditioners.
  • Wash your wig every 6-8 wears. Avoid soaking your wig and do not put conditioner on the knots.
  • Place your wig on a wig stand when you’re done wearing it. You can also store the wig in a wig box for long term storage.

How do you wash a wavy wig?

To keep your wavy wig fresh and voluminous, here is how you wash a wig. Be sure to wash your wig every 6-8 wears and use shampoo and conditioner specially formulated for wigs and its fiber type.

  • First, rinse the hair with lukewarm water from roots to ends. Do not soak your wig because this could cause tangling.
  • Next, pour shampoo into your hands and work them through the hair. Remember to distribute a sparing amount of shampoo and evenly work it throughout the hair.
  • Be sure to rinse the hair thoroughly.  You could dull the hair fibers if you do not rinse out your wig enough.
  • Then, spray leave-in conditioner from the mid-shaft to the ends. Be sure to avoid the knots or roots.
  • Let lukewarm water flow in the same direction of the hair to avoid tangling. Do NOT wring the hair. Only squeeze and press the hair.
  • Gently blot the hair with a towel to get rid of the excess water.
