About Children With Hair Loss
Children With Hair Loss was founded in 2000 by Regina Villemure, a former cosmetology instructor and hair replacement specialist with a Master Certification from the American Hair Loss Council. Motivated by her niece Sarah's battle with hair loss during chemotherapy, Regina aimed to create a better world for children facing similar challenges. Her mission, “Cover Young Heads to Heal Young Hearts™,” now sees the organization annually providing over 600 children with a customized human hair wig and care kit at no cost.
How You Can Get Involved
Donate Hair
If you have long, healthy hair and are considering a haircut, consider donating your locks to Children With Hair Loss. The hair must be at least 8” long, and in the form of a braided ponytail to ensure the hair strands are held together during transport. Your hair could bring immense joy to a child's life.
Financial Contributions
Monetary donations are vital for covering the costs of crafting wigs and providing emotional support. Every dollar counts and can make a real difference.
Volunteer
Whether you’re a hair or wig stylist, you can volunteer to help children in your area who need assistance in learning how to apply, style, and care for their wigs. You can also encourage people to donate their hair and send it to Children With Hair Loss. Children With Hair Loss is a proud member of The American Hair Loss Council. While they have many members willing to donate their time, they are always looking for more hair stylist to help!
