How to Get Rid of Friction Frizz on a Synthetic Wig

Have you ever noticed your synthetic wig starting to get a bit unruly? Friction and tension on the fiber can be the culprits behind it! Over time as the fibers rub against clothing or skin, strands of hair will kink up and cause them to clump together. Before long, that soft & silky texture might become compromised as those frizzies set in. It doesn’t mean you have to toss your wig aside and get a new one though! We’ll share some tips on how to combat and fix friction frizz.
Tip #1:
Brushes can cause tension on the fiber which can lead very quickly to frizz. Always gently detangle using a wide tooth comb, focusing on the nape and areas that touch your body.
Tip #2:
Use a detangling spray like BeautiMark’s Smooth Detangler to help your comb glide through the hair and prevent frizz caused by tension. Pro tip: Carry the travel size in your bag along with your wide tooth comb so that you can detangle on the go!
Tip #3:
Smooth out the fiber on heat friendly synthetic wigs using a flat iron. Keep temperatures between 275° F to 300° F to prevent damage to the fiber.
Tip #4:

Tip #5
Cleanse and condition regularly, every 6-8 wears. This will prevent build-up on the fiber that can also lead to frizz. Always be sure to use shampoos, conditioners and all care products that are specifically formulated for synthetic fibers.
