Can You Shower With a Wig On?

Life can be unpredictable and hectic at times, and sometimes that means taking a shower with your wig on. While we don’t recommend it because it can slip off your head or become tangled and matted, we’ll share some simple steps that’ll make showering easy and safe for your wig.
Keeping Your Wig Safe
- Clip or pin your hair up tightly to your head
- Place a shower cap on over your wig, ensuring that all of the hair is tucked safely inside
- If you don’t have a shower cap on hand, consider wrapping your hair up in a scarf or a towel
- Avoid putting your wig directly under the shower head
- If your wig does get wet, wait until it has dried to comb or brush the hair. If you can’t wait, use a detangler or conditioning spray with a wide tooth comb to gently work from the ends up to the roots while detangling
