1.Choose the perfect wig:

Wearing a wig can be a fantastic way to change your look or conceal hair loss. However, some people may find it uncomfortable or warm, especially during hot weather. Fortunately, there are several strategies you can employ to keep your head cool and comfortable while wearing a wig. The first step is choosing the right wig. Opt for wigs made from lightweight, breathable materials like human hair or synthetic fibers specifically designed to allow air circulation. Wigs with open wefts can also help in providing ventilation and a secure fit. New to wigs or not sure where to start? 2. Accessories to keep your head cool:

Before putting on your wig, consider wearing a wig cap. Wig caps not only create a smooth base for your wig but can also help to absorb sweat and minimize friction between your scalp and the wig, reducing discomfort. Jon Renau has a bamboo viscose Softie Wig Liner available in three sizes, or a cotton wig liner available in three colors, that will keep your head cool and comfortable:

If wig caps aren't for you, try Headline It , a no sweat liner specifically designed to put inside your wig cap to absorb moisture away from your skin. Or Sure Grip by BeautiMark which was designed for sensitive scalps as a wig grip and to prevent pressure that may be caused by your wig. During warmer months, many wig wearers will put this in the freezer to cool down and then put it on under the wig.

3. Keep Your Scalp Clean & Take Breaks:

Maintaining a clean scalp is essential for comfort while wearing a wig. Regularly wash your scalp with a gentle shampoo and avoid using heavy hair products that can cause sweat and buildup.

Also, give your scalp some breathing room by taking breaks from wearing your wig whenever possible, especially during long periods of stationary activities. Use this time to cool down and let your scalp recover.

4. Opt for Shorter Styles or Wear Your Wig In an Updo:

If the weather is particularly hot, consider choosing shorter wig styles that expose more of your neck and shoulders. Longer wigs can trap more heat, leading to discomfort.
An option for wearing longer wigs is to create fun summer updos to keep the hair off your neck and shoulders, this will help you stay a bit cooler.
