Why is my lace front itchy?
August 11th, 2023
Having some discomfort or irritation while wearing a lace front wig? It could be caused by a variety of factors, such as wrong sizing, skin sensitivities or low-quality cap construction. We’ll share a few tips on how to avoid an itchy situation.
Choose the correct wig cap size
When a wig is too large or too small, your lace front can rub against or press into your skin. Either way, it’s uncomfortable! Measuring your head will help you to pick the right cap size. If you’re in between sizes, not to worry– several brands make stretchy 100% hand-tied wigs that feel as comfy as your favorite leggings.
Go for high quality with a good reputation
Higher end lace front wigs from big name brands will almost always be more comfortable because they have superior craftsmanship and are made with breathable materials. This means softer lace, more seamless transitions and oftentimes smaller knots where the fiber or hair is tied on.

Try adhesives
Lace front tape can create a barrier between the lace and your skin while also preventing your wig from slipping or rubbing. Just be gentle when you’re taking off your wig at the end of the day and use an adhesive remover like Lace Let Go by Jon Renau.
