Tips for wearing wigs on hot days

July 18th, 2023

It’s summer and temps are soaring. Having anything on your head that traps in heat probably doesn’t sound too fun. We’ll share a handful of tricks to stay cool while wearing a wig in warm weather:

Shorter styles

If you can, try to wear shorter styles. Short bobs and pixie cuts will let your neck and back breathe better.

Open cap design

100% hand tied wigs tend to trap in a little more heat than a fully wefted wig. Open cap designs with wefts throughout the back and the top allow more air flow to the scalp.

Lighter colors

Blondes and highlighted shades are always a popular choice for summer. Sunkissed hair is not only on trend but lighter colors don’t absorb as much heat as darker colors.

Bamboo wig liners

Naturally hypoallergenic and incredibly soft, bamboo wig liners or caps are super absorbent for sweaty heads.

Styling techniques

Use headbands, hair clips or even sunglasses to keep your bangs away from your face. Braid or tie your hair back into a low ponytail.
We hope these tips help you beat the heat and stay comfortable all season long!
