Storie & Interviews

Meet Eileen

Meet our Wigs.com Ambassador, Eileen. In this heartfelt interview, she shares how her journey with hair loss led her to discover not only the transformative power of wigs, but also a renewed sense of confidence and purpose. From navigating the early overwhelm of wig-wearing to becoming a trusted voice in the hair loss community, Eileen opens up about her experience, her favorite styles, and the advice she hopes will empower women at every stage of their wig journey.

About Eileen

Wigs.com: Tell us about yourself and how your journey with hair loss persuaded you to be such an inspiration in the hair loss community.

Eileen: "My name is Eileen, and my journey with wigs began during one of the most challenging chapters of my life—a breast cancer diagnosis. Facing treatment and the hair loss that came with it was overwhelming, emotional, and honestly, frightening. I never imagined I would be someone who wore wigs, much less someone who would one day help others through the same experience.

"But as I navigated that season, wigs became something far more meaningful than just hair—they became a source of comfort, control, and hope. I quickly realized how many women were going through this quietly, without guidance or support. That realization lit a fire in me. I wanted to share what I was learning, to show women that they weren’t alone, and that beauty and confidence could still be found in the hardest moments.

"What started as a very personal struggle eventually turned into a mission. Today, helping women feel supported, informed, and empowered on their own hair loss journey is one of the greatest gifts to come out of my experience."

Finding Confidence with Wigs

Wigs.com: How has wearing wigs influenced your confidence or other areas of your life?

Eileen: "Wearing wigs truly gave me my confidence back. Instead of worrying about my hair every moment of the day, I could finally focus on living my life. Wigs opened doors I never expected—creating online content, connecting with incredible women, traveling, learning from experts, and becoming part of a community that celebrates choice, creativity, and individuality.

"Wigs didn’t just help me feel confident again—they helped me discover a passion, a purpose, and a place where I could help others rebuild their confidence, too."

Eileen's Advice For New Wig Wearers

Wigs.com: What advice would you give to yourself at the beginning of your wig wearing journey?

Eileen: "I would tell myself: 'Take a breath. You don’t have to have all the answers today.'

"I wish I had known that you don’t need the “perfect” first wig—what you need is patience, curiosity, and the freedom to explore styles. I would remind myself that wig-wearing is a learning process, and every woman deserves the grace to grow into her confidence. Most of all, I’d tell myself not to be afraid—this journey is going to be better than you imagine."

Wigs.com: What is the biggest challenge with wearing wigs?

Eileen: "In the beginning, the biggest challenge was simply not knowing what I didn’t know—cap constructions, fibers, fit, color codes, density, all of it. Today, the challenge is helping new wig wearers overcome that same overwhelm. There’s so much information, and people often feel alone or afraid to ask questions. That’s why education is so important to me. The more women understand their options, the more empowered and confident they become."

Wigs.com: What do you love most about wearing wigs?

Eileen: "I love the freedom. Wigs give me the ability to change my look based on my mood, the weather, the event—anything! No stress, no damage, no waiting for hair to grow. But I also love the community that wigs brought into my life. The friendships, the support, the shared experiences—those connections are what keep me passionate about this work. Wigs helped me feel like myself again, but they also helped me find my people."
