GLOSS BY ELLEN WILLE

Gloss by Ellen Wille is a short remy human hair wig that is cut into the perfect bob hairstyle. The 100% Remy Human Hair consists of a 50/50 blend of Chinese and Indian hair, processed to keep the integrity and shine. The subtle side bang and fringe frame the face and can be trimmed or shaped by a professional. The hand-made lace front and monofilament top are made of sheer lace to blend with all skin tones. The 100% hand-tied cap was designed to give you natural movement with styling options and a comfortable feel.

The lace front extends ear to ear and allows you to style the front layers and away from the face. The monofilament top is hand-tied to give you natural volume and adds movement to change your hairstyle and look. The sides and back are hand-tied to give you the most styling versatility and comfort. This style comes straight out of the box but we recommend washing and styling the hair before you wear it. For the best results, we recommend blow drying and styling with heat tools.

From an experienced human hair wig wearer

The ends are extremely tapered and thin, which caused me to be concerned about how the hair would respond to heat styling, which you simply must do with a HH wig. My concerns were unfortunately justified, because despite following my tried and true care process which is meticulous and uses only high-end moisturizing products, I ended up with a mess. Nothing but dry, dull, fly-away strands were in front of me after blow-drying. So I sprayed each section with an organ-oil based thermal spray for dry (i.e., not wet) hair and went to work with my 320 degree curling iron. As I used the curling iron, I could still feel the roughness in the hair strands. Stubbornly, I then applied frizz-taming styling serum to each section plus another dose of the hot-tool protection spray and used a hot brush. It was finally wearable, but not great. Something went very wrong in the manufacturer's processing of the hair for this wig

    Absolutely the worst wig ever!

My husband and I planed a trip to Hawaii for our 10 year anniversary so I decided to splurge and buy a really nice wig!! Unfortunately I bought this one!! It was beautiful when I first took it out of the box but after the first time I washed it using the suggested product it turned to straw the hair started falling out and coming through the inside of the net it was an absolute nightmare and because I splurged I didn't have the money to buy another one so I was stuck with it until after my trip fortunately the management at wigs.com worked with me to address all of my issues but I will never buy Ellen Wille again they are terrible especially for the price!!!

    Not the expected quality

Given the price the above reviews and the above pictures I was super psyched to be getting what I thought would be a wig of exceptional quality. I had seen a couple of reviews online suggesting that perhaps the EW wigs weren't quite what they were cracked up to be but decided to try them out anyway. I ordered the gloss in chestnut. Unlike the above review I felt the ends didn't appear thin and instead appeared thick and over processed. It felt VERY synthetic when I pulled it out of the box. So much so that I had to triple check the box to make sure I wasn't sent the wrong one. I did like the color and the length though. The cap and overall wig felt light and manageable so I decided to give it a more thorough try assuming it just needed a wash and condition. The conditioner helped tame the ends but the wet hair and transitioning the part revealed areas of sparse hair almost bald spots! I also realized after washing that what I thought was a product of hair being parted oddly creating a cow-lick was actually a deformity in the front crown portion of the cap. It has a bit of a bubbled up section just slightly bigger than a quarter that doesn't match the contour of the cap.

Other things to note: go for the rooted colors. The highlights on my chestnut left wonky colors on the cap making the "scalp" various colors. The ear tabs are pretty darn high and won't cover the remaining hair I do have in that area.

If it lets me update this later I'll add some pictures.

Absolutely perfect wig for Alopecia totalis!

This is a really great wig! I have alopecia totalis the cap fits perfectly (EW caps run small) and there is no tape needed to make it stay firmly in place!. It's as close to a custom fit as you can ever hope to get! The hair initially out of the box appears thin at the ends but after wetting and then blow drying it with a round brush it came out very nice. The hair looks so natural. I got the mocca rooted which is perfect. The rooted wigs always look the most natural and the "roots" are all the same color so that the cap does not look striped or checkered. At 30% off this is a very good value for your money.

    Light champs rooted...is strawberry blonde

At first I planned on returning this wig (but then found out about the 25% loss you assume) based upon the color. I'm not a fan of yellow or red tones. This one definitely pulls warm and is not accurately represented in the promo photos appearing platinum.

    I got over it.

Now I love this wig after wearing it to my boyfriend's one evening.

I know this won't tangle any where near as much as the synthetics.

One drawback to note: the sheer lace portion goes pretty far back.

My natural hair is almost black and would've been very visible at the front of the part before the wig transitions into the monofilament.

I put on a beige wig grip which was also completely obvious at the front of the part...however it was better than black shining through.

Just a know before you buy...would still recommend regardless.
