A hair wrap is a type of extension that has a wrap around feature, like velcro or hook and loop closure. A special strand of hair wraps around the closure to hide it. Hair wraps offer a versatile option to enhancing your hairstyle by incorporating fancy updos and buns into your hair.

Mid-length and long hair are better suited for attaching your hair bun to. While you can experiment with shorter hairstyles, the hair wrap may be more difficult to seamlessly blend into hair. Shorter hair may not have certain strands be long enough to stay tucked into the extension.

How you care for your wig plays a huge role in how long it’ll last and the kind of experience you’ll have with it. Here are some important tips to keep in mind: 

• Wash your wig every 6-8 wears.
• Use styling and care products specially made for wigs and formulated for each fiber, especially shampoos and conditioners.
• Detangle the wig hair often with a wide tooth comb. Also, be sure to use a detangling spray for synthetic fibers.
• Place your wig on a wig stand or store it safely in its wig box for long term storage

The lifespan of your hair wrap depends on how well you take care of your wig and what the hair fibers are made of. For example, with proper care, hair wraps made with human hair can last up to 1+ years while synthetic hair wraps wigs can last up to three to six months.

Wrap arounds are less likely to damage your hair. Make sure when you apply your hair wrap, it’s not pulling on the hair or your hair isn’t put up too tight. Tension on the hair follicles will damage the hair.
